Our Mission
As part of the Greencademy project, we recently held the second edition of our Training of Trainers program in Pau, France, from October 21–25, 2024. This event brought together 12 participants from organizations in France, Romania, Poland, and Germany, all working towards enhancing youth training in the green skills sector.
The training featured hands-on testing of four tools developed by the participating organizations:
-
- Build a Dream City (Rakonto): Encourages participants to envision sustainable urban living.
-
- Eco-Awareness (Europa Iuvenis): Focuses on fostering understanding of environmental issues and sustainable practices.
- Ideal Community (ARYAS): Guides participants in conceptualizing the values and structure of eco-friendly communities.
- Mindful Green Living Challenge (Next Level): Promotes sustainable daily habits through actionable steps.
-
Through practical exercises, presentations, and discussions, we analyzed each tool’s features and identified areas for improvement. Feedback gathered during the sessions will be used to refine these tools, ensuring they effectively meet the needs of youth workers and young people.
The training also highlighted the importance of creating resources tailored to youth workers who face cultural or infrastructural barriers. These tools aim to empower youth workers to train young people in developing green skills, fostering youth entrepreneurship, and advocating for sustainable solutions in their communities.
What’s Next?
-
The insights and outcomes from this event will contribute to a comprehensive online Guidebook for youth workers. This resource will provide practical tools and methodologies to support young people in the Green Transition.
