🌍 About the project
Greencademy is an innovative educational initiative designed to equip young people (ages 18-30) with the essential knowledge, skills, attitudes, and mindset needed to lead in the Green Transition. This project, supported by Erasmus+, aims to overcome the challenges that hinder young people from participating in the Green Skills economy, particularly in the rural and urban agricultural sectors.
Our mission is to enhance the quality of youth work by empowering Youth Workers (YW) to strengthen young people's sense of initiative in green skills, promote a youth entrepreneurship mindset, and advocate for sustainable practices. Greencademy specifically targets Youth Workers facing cultural differences and other barriers, providing them with the tools and resources necessary to guide young people toward active participation in the green economy.
Project Roadmap
Work Package 1: Research on Green Skills & Youth Work
- Timeline: April 2024 – August 2024
In this phase, each partner conducted extensive research, including focus groups, surveys, and desk research, to identify the best practices and challenges in green skills and youth work. The findings are compiled in both National and Comparative Reports, which will guide the development of future tools and resources.
Work Package 2: Greencademy Toolkit – Green Skills
- Timeline: August 2024 – October 2024
Building on the research, this phase focuses on creating a comprehensive Toolkit containing practical tools, approaches, and methodologies tailored to Green Skills. Each partner contributes to this Toolkit based on their expertise and the insights gained from the research.
Work Package 3: GreenSkills Adaptations – Training of Trainers (ToT)
- Timeline: October 2024
The Training of Trainers event in Pau, France, will equip select participants from each partner country with the skills to adapt and implement the Toolkit in their local contexts. This hands-on training ensures that the tools are effectively utilized to foster green skills among young people.
Work Package 4: GreenSkills Adaptation in Local Realities
- Timeline: October 2024 – January 2025
Following the ToT, participants will lead follow-up activities in their communities, applying the Toolkit to real-world scenarios. These activities aim to directly engage young people and youth workers, facilitating the transition to sustainable practices at the local level.
Work Package 5: Green Skills Guidebook
- Timeline: January 2025 – March 2025
The Green Skills Guidebook will be a comprehensive resource, available online and in print, summarizing the tools, methodologies, and best practices developed throughout the project. This guidebook will be freely accessible in multiple languages to support the widespread adoption of green skills.
Work Package 6: Multiplier Actions and Advocacy
- Timeline: March 2025
Each partner will organize local multiplier actions to engage stakeholders and promote the adoption of the Green Skills Toolkit. These events will serve as a platform for advocacy, encouraging broader support for youth-led green initiatives.
Work Package 7: Management, Coordination, and Communication
- Each partner plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth management, coordination, and communication of the project. This includes regular transnational meetings, quality assurance, risk management, and the execution of a comprehensive communication plan that promotes the project across various platforms.
